Recognition: Norms and Classes from Philosophical and Sociological Perspectives

This paper serves as an introduction to the thematic block on social structure and recognition. It outlines concisely the intellectual context of previous decades, in which the normative philosophical discourse on justice and the analysis of social structure (itself increasingly detached from normative principles) drifted far away from each other. The papers presented in this thematic compilation are mostly based on lectures held at a conference focusing on the possible connections of these separate research areas.
