University Occupation as Action form and Liberated Space
The occupation of one lecture hall at the building A of the Faculty of Humanities of the Eötvös Loránd University was the most important event of the student movement in Hungary in 2013. The occupation was part of the protest wave began in 2012 against the reduction of admission capacities, the so called student contracts, the general reduction of financial support for the higher education sector and for the support of the six points formulated by the students. In this paper I analyse the university occupation as a protest form, and the significance of the occupied, liberated space of the campus’.
