You’ve Got Message

The introduction of the present selection briefly reflects on some of the European events and main actors of the McLuhan centenary, with special attention paid to the conference McLuhan’s Messages organized at ELTE. From the conference presentations Replika now publishes the Hungarian papers (not all of them, though). These papers based on presentations approach McLuhan’s works from different disciplinary backgrounds, which also assured the interdisciplinary character of the conference. The program schedule was organized following the variety of approaches, the main sessions of which are shown in the current introduction. It summarizes the papers by looking at the presented images of McLuhan, the various perspectives of assessment, and the critical arguments.
