Culture, Subculture and Social Organization
Culture, Subculture and Social Organization
The concept of subculture has a central role in both the theoretical and empirical studies of youth culture. However, the analysis of the links between subculture, post-subcultural models and the present theoretical evolution of sociology is missing from the largest part of the literature and critical analyses on subculture. The treatise aims to present and define these links. It suggests that the current reconsideration of the concept of subculture is embedded— in accordance with the theoretical critics and empirical results—in the general process of reinterpreting collective notions defined by early pioneers.
