The topic of this paper is the book entitled Distant suffering that has attracted unjustly less attention in the international specialized press than other works of Boltanski such as On justification, or The New Spirit of Capitalism. In this paper, which apart from some commentaries is in essence a review, Ágnes Rényi attempts to shed some light on some of Boltanski`s particular sociological view apropos of this book and the treatise entitled Exposure and Sense of Justice.
