“The mythology explains itself and everything else on the world” – wrote Károly Kerényi. In every culture the reality which can be revealed from myths could explain the world as such: why are we, the world, the life as we know them? How do myths appear in space and time? What kind of message do myths send us through visible symbols? The papers of the conference “Modern myths – Myths in the modernity” are reflecting on these questions. This special issue is the collection of the extended conference papers, which disprove the notion that modernity would be independent from myths of from the mythical thinking and it brought the rule of rationality.
